Our History
History
In 1983 at age 10, Jake got his start in landscaping, working every summer for his father’s landscape company. In 1998 at age 24, he started his own landscape business.
In 2008, Jake began to make regular guest appearances on DIY Networks ‘Yard Crashers’, House Crashers, Bath Crashers and Turf Wars. Then in 2012, these appearances led to a 4-season career as the host and designer of the TV show ‘Yardcore’.
In 2010, Jake met his wife, Brandi. With her background and degree in graphic design, they instantly became a dynamic duo and fell in love creating together.
The TV show was an amazing experience for Jake and Brandi as it gave them a unique platform to design for clients nationwide. Today, they continue their passion for creating unique outdoor living spaces as they spend their days designing from their homestead.
Early Influences
Jake grew up with a deep appreciation for the arts and creativity. As a kid our dad would take us to many galleries, museums, and exhibitions. One of my favorite places to hang out was with at The Candy Store Gallery with Adeliza McHugh. It was here, at a very young age where I was exposed to some of the world’s most amazing artists who to this day still inspire me to draw, paint and build.
Why I do this?
Landscape design and implementation is my favorite form of artistic expression. This is because I get to visualize, draw, and then finally build an actual physical place where people can enjoy life and experience feelings that connect them to themselves and others. It’s 3-dimensional reality. It’s real, tangible, and livable!
Client Relationship & Design
Each design is crafted to suit the individual or family’s personality and needs. No two designs are alike because no two clients are alike. My job is to determine my client’s aesthetics, likes and dislikes. Equally important, I believe in introducing new and exciting concepts for my clients. There’s always a little something outside of the box that I like to surprise them with!
We look forward to working with you!
